Magdalena
Magdalena DeRosa began her work in in-home care long before stepping into her role as a death doula. With several years of experience supporting adults and children with physical disabilities and mental health challenges, she felt called in 2018 to accompany her grandparents-in-law through their final chapter. While providing 24/7 in-home memory care for them, she completed her training with Deanna Cochran’s CareDoula® program, and she has been working as a death doula ever since.
Witnessing firsthand the profound healing, dignity, and peace that come from aging and dying at home and held primarily by loved ones, ignited her passion for helping other families do the same. Magdalena is dedicated to supporting intergenerational households and easing the often overwhelming transition of keeping elders at home during end of life.
In addition to her extensive background in elder and disability care, mental health, and childcare, Magdalena is an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church, a certified Reiki practitioner, and a classically trained musician. Her studies in music therapy and transpersonal counseling are deeply woven into the fabric of her practice.
During overnight vigils, she creates profound transpersonal soundscapes using voice, keyboard, ukulele, Native flute, singing bowls, shamanic drum, percussive instruments, and recorded music. These sound offerings are integrated with Reiki, aromatherapy, readings from spiritual texts of your choosing, and other holistic caregiving modalities to support rest, peace, and an attuned presence while caregivers rest. She tends the sacred container of your death with respect, care, and unwavering commitment to your wishes.
Magdalena is also passionate about creative legacy projects—helping individuals honor and express their life through art, music, and writing. She additionally offers live-in doula services, allowing families to provide highly personalized care at more accessible rates.
